Siesta Beach is Third Best Beach in the United States

Siesta Key Beach was recently voted as 3rd best beach in the United States by Dr. Stephen P. Leatherman, known throughout the United States and internationally as Dr. Beach. This year, Siesta Beach went up to 3rd place compared to last year where it placed 10th.

Siesta Key is popular for its powdery, white sand and the crystal quartz that makes the sand cool even under the Florida sun. Amenities in Siesta Key include lifeguards, concessions, picnic tables & grills, rest rooms and showers. 10 volleyball courts, 4 tennis courts and a playground shaded by Australian pines are an added bonus.

Beaches along the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific Ocean are objectively evaluated using 50 criteria which include water and sand quality, as well as facilities and environmental management, as part of the National Healthy Beaches Campaign (NHBC).

Florida Trend Magazine has also named Siesta Beach as “The Best Beach in the State of Florida.”
