Navarre Beach, An Affordable Beach Vacation For The Whole Family
Summer is here and everybody is busy looking and booking for that perfect and affordable family summer getaway. Navarre Beach in Florida is a 12 mile sugar white sand beach that offers family-friendly fun at a reasonable price. It is located on Santa Rosa Island and tucked neatly between Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach.
Kate Wilkes, executive director for the Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council, said that Many families do not realize how affordable a Navarre Beach vacation can be. “Today, rental companies routinely offer summer deals, particularly on vacation rentals that are just a block or two away from the beach. If you are living inland, walking a block to the beach is no big deal. The island is not even a half-mile wide so you can choose the white sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico or the calm waters of the Santa Rosa Sound within an easy walking distance.”
You family can save money by using fully equipped kitchens for many meals or looking for a variety of affordable restaurants located nearby. Rates at island rentals off the beach start at just $95 per night. If your budget can’t accommodate a week-long vacation, you can opt for a three or four-night option making a long-weekend getaway possible.
“A lot of wonderful memories can be made over a long weekend. When the kids finally get out of school they are ready to swim, run, jump and play. Everyone looks forward to summer and we all need a chance to unwind,” said Wilkes.
Free or low-cost attractions are also found in the area. The Panhandle Butterfly House which operates on donations is located at the base of the Navarre Beach bridge. An expansive waterfront park with children’s splash pad and picnic tables is located next door and is absolutely free.
